„Afterwork“ – a word I rarely have on mind. The living room is already furnished since two weeks and I used it like .. never? The new white couch is almost untouched and I never used the new table for something else than decoration. Maybe it´s because I banned the TV or maybe it´s because the book shelf is not fixed up yet. More likely I think it´s because I am not able anymore to relax. For me, time I don´t work, is time wasted. Sitting down, browsing through the latest issue of Vogue or Instyle and thinking: I could have worked on this, I should have emailed that … If I go for a drink or two with friends I sometimes catch myself designing the next blogpost in my head or planning a answer for emails. Things which could be done easily on the next day are making me feel bad, impatient and even discontented. A feeling wanting to work instead having quality time is of course awesome for your business but on the other side there is a complete overload- for your body and mind. At the moment I often feel so tired, I don´t want to get up, but -of course- I force myself to. Sometimes till 2am in the morning. And this CAN´T be healthy.
Now I made a deal. With myself. At least 2 times a week I want to stop working at 6pm. Close the (non existing) door (in my mind), leave my laptop on the desk, won´t do sports anymore and don´t touch my cellphone. Well- I´ll try. And if it works one time a week it´s a progress!
Last sunday 6pm: Wearing Pyjamas, making a drink, preparing fruits I put myself on the (almost new) couch, reading some magazines, and doing nothing but enjoying cuddling with my frenchie Vicky, eating and drinking and reading my favorite magazines- over and out.
Did it work? Weeeell, kind of! My BF had to take the cam, because I realized you have never seen my living room so far! We have a new couch + table, old pictures and decoration … And my newest blanket (which will be soon property of Miss Victoria – as everything fluffy) which is a snatch from Dealqueen – a german website from women for women with the newest hot deals!
